Doll of Bones - exhibit 477

Picture
This doll was one of the artefacts that was found in the vaults of ‘The Hall of Chambers’. Where hundreds of extraordinary objects, once part of Professor Chambers’ morbidly curious collection, lie quietly guarding their secrets.

Exhibit 477 – Doll of Bones – This doll of bones was found in the Sedlec Ossuary, a small Roman Catholic chapel, located beneath the Cemetery Church of All Saints in the Czech Republic. The ossuary is estimated to contain the skeletons of between 40,000 and 70,000 people, whose bones have in many cases been artistically arranged to form decorations and furnishings for the chapel.

Two shelves containing thirteen little bottles of seeds collected from the old farm that we live on.This piece is double sided - the back contains a list in 'layman's latin' of what each bottle contains.

The Latin names are not their original names, but ones I have ascribed them by their characters:
127 - Abundantia aeneus eneus sperma - Abundance of bronze seeds (Doc seeds)
